Garden birds

I had a go at drawing birds this morning. It's so difficult. Just when I try to get the shapes right, they change!

Dunnock preening on the garden fence. A common garden bird present all year-round. Grey, brown and rather unassuming

A young Whitethroat, a warbler that will make its first attempt at crossing the Sahara in a few weeks time... It was feeding up on bugs attracted to the honeysuckle flowers and the sticky, red berries on the bush

Some people say that drawing birds' feet is the hardest bit. That's not my experience. It's the rest of them that's difficult.

Love the Dunnock and Whitethroat. Well done to getting the pencils out again.
